Irish Premiership Cosgrove Thankful For A Return To Form Against Glentoran

Irish Premiership: Cosgrove thankful for a return to form against Glentoran

Glentoran boss Mick McDermott was delighted with his side’s performance in their 2-0 win over Crusaders at the BetMcLean Oval on Friday night.

The Glens took the lead in the first half through a penalty from Conor McMenamin, and doubled their advantage in the second half through substitute Hrvoje Plum.

McDermott said he was pleased with his team’s performance, particularly in the second half.

“I thought we were excellent in the second half,” he said.

“We controlled the game and created a number of chances. We could have scored more goals, but I’m delighted with the three points.

“Crusaders are a good side, so this was a good win for us.”

McDermott also praised his players for their character.

“We showed great character tonight,” he said.

“We went behind to a penalty, but we didn’t let our heads drop. We kept fighting and eventually got our reward.”

Glentoran are now up to fourth in the table, and McDermott is hoping his team can continue their good form.

“We’re in a good position now,” he said.

“We’re fourth in the table and we’re only four points off the top. We’ve got a lot of big games coming up, but we’re confident we can keep our good form going.”
