Luis Palma: No complaints with Celtic role as he singles out two team-mates for praise

Palma made his first start for the Hoops against Ross County

The Colombian winger impressed in Celtic's 3-1 Premier Sports Cup win

Luis Palma has revealed he has no complaints about his playing time at Celtic and is relishing the competition for places in the team.

The Colombian winger has started just twice for the Hoops since joining the club in the summer, but he has made a positive impression when he has been given the chance.

Palma was particularly impressive in Celtic's 3-1 Premier Sports Cup win over Ross County on Wednesday night, and he singled out two of his team-mates for praise after the game.

"I am very happy to be at Celtic," he said. "I am learning every day and I am improving as a player. I have no complaints about my playing time. The manager decides who plays and I respect his decision.

"There is a lot of competition for places in the team, but that is what you want at a big club. It makes everyone better. I am just trying to do my best when I get the chance to play."

Palma was particularly impressed with the performances of Jota and Liel Abada against Ross County.

"They are both excellent players," he said. "They are very skilful and they create a lot of chances for the team. I am learning a lot from them and I am grateful to have them as team-mates.

"I think we can all learn from each other and I am sure we can help each other to improve as a team."

Palma will be hoping to start when Celtic face Dundee United in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final on Sunday.

The Colombian is likely to face competition from James Forrest and Daizen Maeda for a place in the team, but he is confident he can make a contribution if he is given the chance.

"I am ready to play," he said. "I have been training hard and I am feeling good. I will give everything I have if I am selected."
